I bought the watch about 10 months ago and yesterday, I was in a pool and I activated the water proof mode and I was completly sure it was going to be fine. But when I was in the pool the watch turned completly off and wouldn't start. Once it started I saw that the screen was sourt of damged and the "Watch face always on" feature was completly ruined. It also looks kind of slow. So recomedation do what you do but be careful with water.

I am so glad I got this watch. It is great. The screen is easy for me to see, which is a big deal. It looks good enough to wear to work or out on the town. Charge lasts longer than my previous watch even set at a higher brightness. The screen is very responsive. I am SOOOOOOO glad I got it!

This was sent with my Note 10 Plus. Didnt really think I would use the watch, but was I wrong. This watch is incredible! I can send messages, change songs, get my notifications, track my movements, I can go on. Build quality is amazing! Take it on runs, swims, to the gym. Never thought I would need this, greatly enjoyed this watch. Highly recommend!

This watch looks similar to its bigger brother Galaxy watch, but dont be fooled. The pricetag on this overrepresents the value of the product you recieve. The Galaxy watch is a great wearable accessorie, and less than $100 more than this it's reasonable priced. This Gear Sport watch, howerver, is a disapointment. The quality of the Bezel is lacking, a cheap clicking sound can be heard if you lightly press on it. The physical build is not as elegant and is considerabnly more bulky, and looks far less attractive. The screen to watch size ration is off, making it look like a small display on a large metal plate. Finally, the user interface is disapointing. The bigger brother Galaxy Watch allows a user to do a lot more with their faces and the notification on them, with this you better like knowing how many stairs you climbed today.
Overall, it is overpriced, poor quality, and a disapointment. Do yourself a favor, if you want a smartwatch get the real Galaxy Watch.

This watch has good fitness tracking for running/walking/biking. It is lacking in 3rd party apps, such as Runkeeper (the only running app that fits my needs). Having to use Samsung Health without any Google Fit integration is dissapointing. Needs Google Pay integration for mobile payments. I think this watch would be a lot better if it the software was based off Wear OS and integrated more with Android instead of Samsung Health/Wearables. The Samsung Wearable store is limited and dissapointing.

The sensor cover on my Galaxy Watch adhesive failed and the cover keeps coming off. Does not appear to be decorative, smd chips are exposed beneath.$200 for not even six months of use.

I had to get another smart watch, and this one was one sale. For the most part, it's a great watch. Although, there is one thing that is killing me every day...battery life. In my experience, the worst I have ever experience. If the other pros weren't so good, this watch would have been in the trash a long time ago.

Can't keep track of altitude. Doesn't count stair steps. Did 50 squats - it showed I did 8. Similar problems with other exercises.Can hardly find a place that takes Samsung Pay, and when I do, it works less than half the time. Still quicker to pull out card and swipe. Wear it on my left wrist, so my left hand is always accidentally pressing the buttons and changing the screen. Only good for seeing who texted me, and only when I'm not wearing long sleeves, which is about three months of the year.

I bought this watch for my 16 year old son for Christmas. The watch is great. Lots of features and he loves it. Only problem is he cant wear it. The band that comes with it causes big red marks and painful rash. We have tried to clean it, but no help. He has worn other watches with silicone bands in the past with no issues. After reading the blogs, this is a very common complaint. I contacted Samsung and even though the watch cost $180, they would sno nothing except suggest we BUY a different band. That's a nice way to stand behind your product. We ended up buying a new one off of Amazon. Better price and no painful rash.

I bought this as an upgrade to a replace a gear fit. After using it for the better part of a year here is what I have learned. If you want accuracy from these sensors go elsewhere. The floor tracker barely registers my changes in elevation, I go up and down steps all day and I barely even get 2 floors. The step tracking is also wildly unpredictable. One day I will walk for a solid hour on the trail and get 5000 steps and the next time I walk the same hour on the same trail I'll 6500. Occasionally it will fail to realize that I've stopped sleeping and have begun my day. I will notice that even though I've gone up and down stairs, have amassed steps and maybe even worked out, it has me as sleeping thru all of that. In addition I've also noticed that while I am outside exercising (hiking or biking) if a notification comes in while I am "working out" the GPS drops and I only get whatever has been recorded up to that point and nothing more. My 11 mile trail bike ride is listed as 5 or 6 even though the amount of time it took is still correct. It tells time and I appreciate the notifications, which keep me from missing calls and meetings. It is a convenient way to keep track of exercise if you aren't to fanatical about tracking your improvements and of course onboard GPS is nice (I've learned to put my phone in airplane mode, or turn off notifications to help with the GPS drop issue).After the last update one of the most useful widgets is now gone, which is the 24 hour pie chart that shows your day's activity in once slick little graphic. I am not sure why Samsung decided to get ride of that handy little feature.

I got a Gear Sport Watch in July because it was a nice smartwatch and I thought it would be better than my Fitbit. It would be a better workout tracker and a smartwatch, on top of that, I was so excited to track my swimming at the gym.
I got the watch and initially, I loved it! However, as time went by and I started noticing that this watch was very inconsistent with data and definitely not made for an athlete. The heart monitor is very inaccurate, the auto tracker only works when it wants to, and if you do weights or Crossfit, this is not for you. It will not track even remotely close to accurately! On the plus side, I was VERY impressed with the tracker at the pool. It was recording every lap, the distance, even knowing if I was doing breaststroke, butterfly, you name it. I was swimming at the gym 2x a week from July to October when I injured my knee and I could not run. Since October, I haven't put my watch in the water and, a couple weeks ago, my watch completely died. When I tried to turn it on, an error message appeared.
I talked to Samsung and they said that the watch had to be repaired. So I sent it to them a couple of weeks ago and...nothing. This week, I called to check the status since I had not received any sort of update after sending in my $300 watch. When I called the repair center they gave me very bad news saying that my watch had "liquid damage." The very first thing that the Customer Service said was that they assumed I took the watch scuba diving. I don't even have a scuba diving license, nor have I ever even been scuba diving. Why would they assume that was the reason? The only water this has been exposed to is in a pool at my gym. I'm 100% positive that is substantially less than the 50 meters at which this watch is rated.
I told Samsung I only use my watch to swim at the gym. That was certainly not the reason there was liquid damage. I expressed my frustration of having a $300 watch that is advertised on their website as "Swim-ready water resistance. Don't let water hold you back. Gear Sport is water-resistant up to 50 meters,¹ so jump in the pool, run in the rain, and hop in the shower without taking it off".
This is false advertising! The reality is...Apparently, this watch shouldn't even get close to water!
I'm now in a situation that Samsung won't repair or replace it. They are putting the blame on me because I did what the advertising says to do with it...I took it in the water. (In a pool, never being more than 2 meters below the water, with a "watch" rated at 50 meters.)
I feel that I am trapped by Samsung, because I did not do any damage outside of what would be considered normal use. Frankly, it should be considered minimal use. I was just following what the watch should be able to do, without any issue and now I have to buy a brand new watch.
Since Samsung did not care for me as a customer, I want potential customers to know that they could have the same problems as what I have experienced.
Here is my message: If you are planning on buying a Gear Sport Watch, keep in mind that it is only an overpriced smartwatch. If you want to track your workouts, especially swimming, take your business elsewhere. I'm definitely going back to Fitbit! Not only that, I have been a diehard Samsung cell phone user and proponent for the brand in general for about 10 years. This experience has significantly impacted my opinion of the company in general, my next choice in phones, and certainly my recommendation of any of their products.

I really wanted to like this watch. It's stunning and has lots of nice functions, but there were some issues that are deal killers. Those include:
- Connecting with Bluetooth was was really difficult. I tried 3 different headphones and earbuds, and sometimes they would connect and other times not.
- Then the watch would drop Bluetooth connections. I would finally get things working and then the watch would lose its connection to the earbuds.
- Downloading music to the watch (enables music with no phone or WiFi), was extremely confusing.
- Also, the information online says I should be able to download songs from a streaming music service (begins with an S) as long as I have premium, which I do, there was no way to do this.
- User's guide (online) was so superficial, it was mostly useless.
- The Samsung Gear App has extremely limited functions.
Fix these things and I'll buy again:
- Working Bluetooth
- An App on the phone that allows me to easily work with and setup the watch
- Add working support that enables me to download songs from a streaming music service.
I'm a Samsung fanboy, and I was really looking forward to getting this watch. I'm so disappointed right now...

I've owned this watch for nearly a year now. I wear it everyday. The sad part is that i still put up with it... I'm an athlete and i thought this was going to be a great watch for me. It's not.. the heart rate is super inaccurate, and the calorie tracking is as well. There is nothing accurate when it comes to fitness tracking in this watch. Besides fitness, the watch glitches a lot unless you restart it once a day. There was previously a battery issue that most Samsung products had which was frustrating because the battery drained and the watch died mid morning. Also samsung support is clueless... they are no help at all. I previously owned a fitbit and as most people know, if you have an issue with it, they send you a replacement one right away. If you're looking for a great sports watch, stay away from this. I just wish samsung would release an update or something to fix the activity tracking and heart rate on this watch.

I bought this on February 21st, 2018 and I really loved it at the start but once time progressed it started to glitch and bug down. I would turn the amazing bezel but it would black out and only vibrations were felt. The design on the other hand is really good. It stood out. I just wish that my Gear Sport could live longer than 2 months. I might upgrade but I don't wanna pay more for something that wasn't my fault. It is just real slow.

Watch is four days old. Charged the battery full before bed 12pm. Woke up at 7am to a whopping 75% battery left. I havenothing extra downloaded. All alerts turned off. Came to work at 8am same day. At 11:30 I was down to 25%. Again watch not being used. Only turned on. Writing this review at 1:45pm same day. Watch is now at 7%. Do not buy this if your planning on wearing it all day

I have been using this watch for about a month. The pairing to my Samsung Galaxy S6 Active phone was easy using Bluetooth, and most of the apps that I use on my phone can be easily used on the Gear Sport watch. I bought the watch for it's waterproof abilities and to replace my Fitbit Charge 2. The watch is terrible at recording my sleep cycles and even worse at accurately recording steps taken and floors climbed. I climb steps at least 10 times a day and so far the watch has recorded only 1 floor climbed, TOTAL, in 4 weeks of use. It also has my heart rate at 55-65 bom no matter what I am doing. Don't buy this watch it you are wanting something to give you an accurate picture of what your heart rate is doing or if you want to accurately measure the flights of stairs that you are climbing as it has proved very disappointing (forgot to mention that I have been wearing my Fitbit on the opposite arm and comparing the recorded data).
The only reason I haven't returned the watch is because I got the watch at a great price and I do like the apps and the integration of the watch with my phone. If I has paid full price, however, I would have definitely returned the watch.

This is my first smart/fitness watch and I absolutely love it! I have read some reviews on poor battery life but in my opinion the battery life is actually quite well. I can go about three days before having to charge it (from what I hear that's much longer than an apple watch). As far as tracking, I use this watch everyday to run and regardless of running on a treadmill vs. outside it does a pretty good job! One caveat for running on a treadmill though is to make sure you turn off GPS or it will stop tracking. The only complaint I have about it is that I noticed the volume tends to be a bit lower than when I connect my wireless headphones to my phone. A volume control would be extremely beneficial! Other than that, highly recommend!

I bought this watch in May, and used it for my entire internship, I love the clicky turn wheel, and every app that was preloaded into the watch. The notifications on my phone allow me to keep the ringtone off, and still get them without notifying everyone around me, and texting people on here is a breeze. I have gone swimming with this multiple times, and not had a single issue.

Having a gear sport is like having a sidekick for your phone. You view and reply to messages without pulling your phone out of your pocket. You can answer and decline calls as well. You can set reminders and track your fitness, which I think is really cool, I never get to skip a beat. Ultimately it is syncronized with your phone, so it makes your life easier.

Bought one a few months ago after a friend suggested it to me. I cant complain that it does not do as advertised but I guess my expectations were higher. It feels cheep, especially compared to the smartwatch I had before it. The ring you use to control it rattles if you tap it and every time it has a minor bump I fear it will be broken when I look at it. For someone working at an office or in similar setting it should work fine but for someone like myself that works private security and need to be able to rely on his equipment it has a lot to be desired. I would like to see Samsung introduce a larger, more rugged version that boosts increased durability, longer battery life and other similar features that would relate to security and law enforcement personal. Even if the cost would be higher I would be willing to pay extra to keep the software and design but in a package I could count on and trust to not give up on me.
To sum up:
-Was expecting it to be better
-Build quality worries me although it has not failed me yet
-Battery life has a lot to be desired
-Works for some people but those with jobs were the risk of hostile encounters is high I recommend looking someplace else.
In case any Samsung employee is reading this I would be more then happy to give more detailed feedback should it be requested.

I was never interested in purchasing a Smartwatch early on, but I'm glad I've bought this one. Love the features plus I can pair it with S Health and can download a 3rd party app like Gear Tracker where I can download Strava. GPS works well as does the NFC to use Samsung Pay.

I really like all the features such as that it tracks your workouts (with a few minor errors like when I was doing food prep and it said "great job on your cycling" across the display), it is fairly accurate with counting steps, and you can listen to music without having your phone with you. The problem is that when I got it I charge it up and at 100% the Gear app said it should last 2 d 13h 39m but now a week later when fully charge it says 1d 21h 10m. To be clear I got it the Thursday before last and it is Saturday now, 16 days later. I contacted support and their solution is the run it on power saving mode, after the money I spend on this I'm supposed to not use the features if I want to keep the battery on the watch. I love Samsung products but I'm very disappointed right now!

Only issue is I have is that I receive my emails 5-10 minutes after I receive them on my Note 8. Not sure why this is.
Other than that one item, it's a great device. It's more of a smartwatch for workout stuff rather than news or reading articles. I use it religiously with my Samsung Health.
Not the number of apps that I wish it had, but it's a great device. And it looks professional. I know that other brand of watch is good, but this one just looks great.

Really, really wish there was an Amazon music app so I can simply control my music from my watch while working out. Do not want to download all my music in duplicate to what I've got with Amazon already. Also, maybe it's me, but the Samsung health app on my Galaxy S7 phone isn't sync'd up with the Samsung smart watch app - why not? The Galaxy health app is 10 times better than the watch app, so I'm always setting my workout using my phone instead of my watch. Argh! Very disappointed in the short comings of the Samsung watch apps.

When I first got this, about 3 weeks ago, battery life was not an issue from dawn to late night. A week later, the battery doesn't last until my 11:00 AM lunch for 3-days in a row.
So I turn OFF lots of functions and with all these functions turned off (notifications, auto gps tracking, always on feature, continuous heart-rate, screen display set to a 3) the battery still doesn't last until my 11:00 AM lunch. Totally disappointed with this watch.
What good is a Smart Watch if the user has to turn off? Really angry this is such a piece of junk.
