Very Good Swim Tracker Until Samsung "Fixed" It

Good not great tracker. Looks nice. Intuitive and easy to navigate using the bezel. Unfortunately, the bezel is a weak spot in the water-proofing; when the seal wears out, no more water activity and there's nobody to fix it.
Step tracking is pretty accurate. Activity sensing feature very convenient but not perfect - when i drove my jeep the watch thought I was riding my bike. Easy to edit bogus tracking using the app.
Detection of swim stroke types not perfect but very impressive. Lap counting, oddly, always off by a few laps. Had to fix in the app for every swim. Still a very good tracker -
until samsung "fixed" it. One day the software was different and native swim tracking didn't work. At all. The watch worked fine with a 3d party swim tracking app but when the bezel seal wore out that was the end of it.

i got this maybe a year and a half ago.the first time the screen blacked out was about 6 months in. i was confused since it was brand new. called a tech guy, he had me do updates, and it came back to life. worked for another 3 or 4 months. i had forgotten about it, let it go dead for a month or so, and wanted to use it, so i charged it, and it went black again. i tried youtube videos to fix it, it came back on. tonight i tried it again after it being dead a while, and im back to square one. it connects to bluetooth, vibrates, let's me access everything on my watch from my phone, including battery life, but occasionally it has this weird green pixelated screen, and when i touch the screen or any of the buttons, it goes away back to a black screen.

i have had this watch for 3 years now and the battery is starting the wear out. i'm sad. i love the rotating bezel. i like the sportiness of the watch. i wear it 24/7. i only take it off to charge it. i wear it swimming. i wear it in the lake, in the shower, to sleep every night. the size was good for me. i really liked the frontier edition. i got that one for my boyfriend. but it would have been huge on me. so when i saw the blue gear sport i was smitten. i am hoping that by next xmass samsung comes out with something as good looking as this watch. i don't really care for the ones they are currently selling. on battery saver (when camping) i can get 5 days out of it. i used to charge it every wednesday and sunday night.

my daughter got this watch in november 2019 after reading that that watch was water resistant up to 50 meters by july of 2020 the watch has stopped working due to liquid damage the repair price was $269.57. needless to say i'm not having the watch fixed. if i would have known the watch could not take lap swimming i would have went with the apple watch that many other kids on her swim team wear and do not have a problem with them or the fitbit.
the part that is the most upsetting is i spoke with a lady in customer service that said she was putting a one time free repair for this watch and now its no where in the notes that a spoke with her about this watch.

Silicone band gives me a burn/rash on my wrist. Samsung would not provide me an alternate band even though their product is defective. Google it, as it is a known problem.

I recently purchased this device and utilize it everyday. I find it very useful in most circumstances, but there's the occasionally hiccups that could use improvement.
Pros:
Price
Internal memory
The ability to play music directly from the watch (if you're being active and don't want to carry a phone).
Ability to write and it convert (rather than 26 tiny letters)
Easy to scroll and use
Cons:
Battery (if you're actively using the phone, you'll get maybe 6 hours)
Connecting to BT can sometimes be a pain.
No sleep tracker
Small amount of memory
Color options
The heart rate monitor does not work (at all)

Bought it with my note 10+ they work flawlessly together and it does everything I need it to do also it being water resistant is an added bonus. Only thing I changed was the band to a metal one they are more comfortable to me and look better

I've been researching all the available fitness trackers on the market, trying to narrow the field down a bit to make an educated decision. I made a list of must-haves to assist me in the process. This one checked off all the boxes.
I was leaving heavily towards the Fitbit Ionic, Garmin Forerunner 245, & Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro towards the end. So far, I'm very happy with my decision. I love how sporty it looks, how simple & intuitive it is to navigate with bezel or via touch on the fly, the all metal, yet lightweight build quality, and the ability to use it WITHOUT MY PHONE to listen to music on my earbuds & even pay at NFC enabled registers using Samsung Pay. Great device.

We are a loyal Samsumg family with many phones, tablets and watches. I purchased the Gear Sport to alternate with my Frontier. The new watch will not charge correctly with the cradle showing a steady red light that switches to a blinking red light then the the watch discharges. Samsung Tech Support agreed to exchange the cradle three weeks ago but they have never shipped the replacement unit yet after 4 escalations. They email the Dept of Accessories but no response. They tell me to call back each week if I don't get a shipping confirmation. Pretty poor customer service for a loyal customer.

I have sent this watch in twice due to the battery being of poor quality. I never overcharge, and haven't even put it to a swim test yet. For the Sport model this watch has great apps and functions, but the hardware has proven to be substandard in my experience.

I purchased this watch January 2018 and have never left my home without this beauty on my wrist! I wear the blue edition to any event whether it be a birthday, a wedding, or any other occasion with some different wrist bands. The blue always catches people attention along with the sleek stainless steel look. The functionality works great like it should and is supposed to. The bezel is great to navigate the watch all around and provides a great experience to the user. I cannot recommend this watch more!

I pre-ordered two, one still works GREAT! battery life is 7 days most of the time. the OTHER unit had a battery life of two days after a few months. I swapped synced phones, checked settings, watched battery usage and nothing wrong on my end. Samsung support had me send it in three times and kept saying nothing was wrong. i think they were just wasting my time until the warranty was up. Now at 1.3 yrs the screen is black yet the watch is still definately on. I looked on ebay and there seems to be a bunch with this issue. now im sitting on the phone with support to send it in one last time. Samsung, whats up? I work corporate A/V and love your products, you clearly have a QC issue with some of these watches, aknowledge it, make it right. email me and i will provide you my ticket number.

As a smartwatch alternative to an apple watch its nice. Very sturdy. But as a fitness tracker it's lacking. I'll work out for 30 minutes and it will track that I've only burned 50 calories. At rest I burn 30. I appreciate that it doesn't overestimate calories burned or steps like fitbit but I would like a little more accuracy. I can put my numbers into a website calculator based on my heart rate, weight, age, and duration and it will say I burned 250. So why doesn't this watch count the extra 200? Bottom line don't purchase this for it's fitness tracking. As a smartwatch I find it useful to check messages and the weather. It comes in handy. I was really looking fr a fit tracker with smartphone capabilities. This isn't it.

Got this as part of HR dollars for steps. Nice watch. However, will not count elliptical workout steps. Looking online this seems to be a known issue. Works well for regular steps and treadmills, but DO NOT buy if you plan on elliptical training!

Bought this watch a little over a year ago.was doing great until the charger stopped working.ordered a new charger.now the watch will charge to 100% but a hour and a half later the watch says 68 %.not sure if it's the watch that keeps it from charging.feel like I paid to much for it to act up after only having it a year.only wore the watch to the gym and work.im a nurse so it was not that it was treated harshly.

I bought this in April 2018, it doesn't do everything they claim it does. It doesn't count steps accurately. Few weeks ago it stopped counting steps, then I sent it in for repaire .They told me they can't repaire it because of liquid damage. This is a watch that they claim you can swim up to 50m with. I didn't swim or shower with it. All I did was the usual kitchen work with little splash of water here and there. I regretted buying this watch. I wished I had listened to the bad reviews I read online.

I purchased my watch a month ago, and cannot believe how bad the battery is. The description said the charge would last a couple days. It should have said a couple hours. I have to charge it 4 times a day. Because it's been over 14 days, AT&T said I have to pay for an exchange, and that would be a refurbished to boot. Luckily, I may have it sold, and only losing less than 50%

This watch is pretty cool, it looks good and does what you'd expect a smartwatch to do. My only problem is I thought I'd get a full Spotify experience, that's not the case. It has no way to play podcasts, a huge letdown because that's what I want to listen to on my long runs. GPS is mostly accurate but when I run with friends, my GPS is consistently shorter than their Garmin's and Apple Watch. Not sure what's accurate, but it makes me feel slow!

Seemed okay at first but slowly features stopped working. The step count went first. Then it wouldn't sync with my phone. Now it won't stay charged for more than a few minutes. Also - from the beginning the calorie counting is very off. I go to a crossfit workout and it tells me I burned 75 calories.

I've only had the gear sport a few months, and I did love it. I would only have to charge it once a week. Until suddenly this week, the battery is draining completely within 12 hours. I hadn't changed any settings. I tried re-booting it, but that didn't help. It's dead right now, charged less than 10 hours ago. It's a shame, because it was a great watch.

I bought the Samsung Gear Sport a few days ago. It was great the first day. The second day I realized it was hurting a bone on my wrist. I figured it would take time to get used to it. Today I had itching and irritation aound the entire area that it had contact with. I had no choice but to return it.
It made my wrist very sweaty. The functionality was a bit difficult to navigate. Was very disappointed that I couldn't talk or listen to music on it without a bluetooth. It has an alarm that makes sound so it has a speaker of some kind. I was really excited about getting this watch, very sad I had to return it.
It has a great look to it and I love the wireless charger.

I enjoy many things about this watch, including style, the screen, and the different apps. However, fitness tracking is off in regards to calories burned. And I mean seriously off. This is a main reason why I bought the watch, so it's really disappointing that it is unable to count calories burned accurately. I have compared it to multiple other trackers as well as general nutritional health information, and the calculations are consistently off. Fix this issue, and you have a great product. One other gripe, the bezel is really easy to scratch and mark up.

Not really accurate with counting steps, I go to bed at night wake up with extra 600 steps, it even counting steps while I'm driving, floors also I live on 4th floor it always counts three, swiming is great waterproof feature is great.

I really love the new gear sport watch. It had a plethora of features and works really well. There is a ton of storage and pretty decent batteryife considering the many functions of the watch. In stand alone mode I get almost a day on a charge. In power save mode I am able to make it a week on a single charge.
I love the design and the wrist bands aren't cheap. The color is amazing the bevel is even better. Way to combine sport with design and make it flow functionally together.
I would say it's well worth the money.
