Good for basic use. Bad charging features

AFigs 9/19/2018

I bought this gear fit 2 almost 2 years ago. it has been through many miles of running and walking. I wear it every day. Its good for your basic fit user. My big issue with this product is the charging feature. The pins underneath the Gear rust super easily. I don't sweat much and I wipe it consistently before i put it in the charger. I already sent it in 2x and it is starting to rust again right now. I will try to send it in again (3x), hopefully Samsung wont come back to tell me that its my problem, especially after a history of them replacing it. Wish me luck!

Awesome Product

Daddiebone 8/22/2018

I am working on my 2nd Gear Fit2. I love the product, unfortunately has a major set back. The reason this is my 2nd purchase is due to the horrible securing of the band. It's not stable nor secure. Any shaking it falls off, anytime I hug another person it falls off. It has fallen off while I was both running and riding my bike. Just so happened I looked down and noticed it missing. First one I lost on a cruise and have no idea when it came off. And there is no replacement type for it. Definitely want be purchasing another one Until I can afford the upgraded version which contains a more secure band. Great product, horrible safety securing band.

SAMSUNGNOTEX 8/5/2018

The samsung gear fit 2 and gear fit pro series are the best of 100 dollars to spend if you are looking for a fitness tracker with some bells and whistles then the fit series are simple easy to navigate from, The screen is easy to see in direct sunlight . The battery can last up to a week depending on battery consumption, but if you are looking for a smart fitness tracker samsung is the one for you.

Didn't Last Long

Sierski 7/17/2018

I bought this product a little under two years ago. The band is heavy duty, features are nice and was exactly what I needed. Pairs easily with my Samsung phone, and syncs well with their fitness app. I had this about 6 months before I started having screen issues. Had vertical lines appear, and eventually the screen stopped working. Couldn't find an answer to my issues, as the troubleshooting did not help. Now months later I am stuck with a carcass of my watch.

Like the product but frequent repair needed

Solpiejas 7/12/2018

I have had several issues with this product. It begins with the unit needed to be rebooted frequently, this ramps up over time until it no longer charges. I am very happy with the features and performance when operating properly. Also, the repair tracking of my unit is difficult to navigate. Too many screens to find out the progress of the repair.

Screen Turning Black

SteveNotSamsung 7/8/2018

Not even two years old and I don't wear this a lot because I have an S2 as well. I've lost a lot of pixels at the top of the screen. Very disappointed the screen should last longer than this! And the band has been replaced four times; I'm starting to think this is just cheap junk :(

Fit Gear 2

CelineT 5/5/2018

I've had the Fit Gear 2 for less than a year and I'm really disappointed with the overall performance. It's alredy been in for service in January because the display died. I got it back and it seemed to be fine but it does not hold a charge for more than 8 hours. When I first got it I would wear my Fit 2 for 18 hours a day. It's not the product I paid for. Also, the band is breaking away near the watch face.

Buy something better

amalthea 4/20/2018

After less than a year, I started to have troubles. It was not counting steps. Now I have to reboot it every day. It will not work. I am so frustrated that i will not even wear it. I spent a lot of money for junk. The band was always cheap. It stayed on for the most part. When it was working, the features were awesome. Too bad that it would not work after less than 5 months of owning it.

Would be great if it didn't spend much of its 1 year warranty at Samsung repair

DaTealDill 4/7/2018

Like the watch. Has great features, but I've had to mail it to the repair center 4 or 5 times. I just have given up on getting a working watch. Have to send it for same problems. Or get it back to with new problems. Finally gave up on getting a working watch after warranty is up. Like samsung products but should have listened to some of the reviews on this one. One would think after so many trips to the repair center that they would want to make it right.

This device stopped working properly after 4 months of use

JJ1980 4/6/2018

The flashing green light on the back of the device stopped working after only five months of use, thus I'm not getting the readings while wearing it. For example, step count, heart beat, floors climbed, calories, etc. None of the features are working except for time and date. I've reset and charged the device countless times but to no avail.

MrsFranklin79 3/23/2018

I liked this product at first, and I wear it everyday. However, the straps have started to come off and it does not accurately track my step. I get stair notifications when I am not walking up stars. It is a horrible design(referring to the wrist band). The key hole snap can easily be pulled apart by putting on a coat or a long sleeve shirt. I have found this thing in many dressing rooms or my coat/jacket sleeve. I cannot return this thing because I have had it so long, but feel like this was totally a waste of money.

Strap problems

lunnfran 3/18/2018

I bought this watch in the past year and was excited about some of it's features and appearance. I liked the way it synched with my email, etc. The battery life seemed pretty good compared to other wearables (fitbit) I've used. I was concerned about the strap right away because it was difficult to fasten and easy to come undone. This past weekend my watch got lost when it fell off while in use when I was wearing it. I knew that could happen someday, but very Disappointed in the design of this product that caused me to lose my watch.

Enjoyed the watch, repair is horrendous.

Rayda 3/7/2018

My GearFit2 worked well until the charging doc just quit. A friend had the same one, so I tried his and it charged my watch ok. Has to be the doc, right? Samsung sends me another dock (to be fair, I thought it was still under warranty, but it wasn't anymore once I got a duplicate receipt at the retailer). The new dock was also broken. Tried my friend's charger and my watch charged. Tried his watch on both my old and replacement charger and got nothing. So the support person says I need to send both chargers AND the watch in. So I did. It is evidently repaired now. And the bill for the repair (despite the watch being sent in WHILE IT WAS STILL RUNNING) is a full c-note more than I paid for the watch when I bought it. Got news for you, Samsung. You can keep it. I didn't like it THAT much. I would rather buy a new GF2 than pay a repair bill that large. And based on that experience, I will probably look elsewhere for a different watch.

Poorly designed band

KMarcelin 2/18/2018

My gear fit2 is pretty good, except that the band is poorly designed... It pops off when bumped against things, and the band recently broke at the connector. Unfortunately my warranty has expired so Samsung will likely not replace it. I love the brand, but I will NOT be buying another replacement. I'll be looking to buy from another brand...

Bad battery life

SuzOdisappoint 2/14/2018

After having this service for the g sensor not working, I have had nothing but intermittent issues charging my gear fit2. But now it just not intermittent any more, it just does not charge anymore, and has been dead for month's now. And of course it is after warranty expired. But even before charging issue, I had to charge it daily.

Gear Fit2

THamer 2/14/2018

Upon receiving this product, I was excited and it worked great! Possibly, 6 months later it stopped working. It wouldn't charge and I could only use the charger that came with it... I sent it back to Samsung to fix and they sent it back and said everything was ok. However, upon receiving it, I had the same issue. It wouldn't come on and it still doesn't charge. So sad to say I don't use it anymore.

Recommended for Step counting

DebiM1 2/6/2018

I bought this so I wouldn't have to carry my phone around for step counting. My numbers were higher than my phone but then I realized it was counting when I washed dishes and sometimes when I was typing at work. I tried disabling the floor counter since it was registering without me climbing any floors and throwing my step numbers off. I also didn't like the idea that it didn't register your stride anywhere. I did like all the various watch faces you could download and there were other programs people made you could download at a cost. Call notification was good to have.

Bad Band Design You'll Loose it!

QualityEye 1/18/2018

Everything about this product is great except, the band will come loose very easy. I have lost 2 of these while working in my large yard. I wanted to track calories burned while doing intensive yard work, like cutting limbs, and gardening. It is lightweight and the fits is very comfortable, but too easy to come off while doing activities that take your attention off this device to make sure it is still on your wrist every minute. I have many Samsung products but this one has an expensive band flaw. It should not cost much more for the primary design to have a dependable clasp. This is too simple of a problem not to correct.

I Like It But...

CodeRed330 1/2/2018

I received the Gear Fit 2 as a Mother's Day gift in 2017. Pros: It offers a lot of functionality like a timer, steps, weather, bpm, syncs with my phone, tracks your sleep, etc. There are regular updates but they are not overbearing. The display is clear and when the battery gets low, it prompts you to switch to power saving mode. Cons: The battery drains quickly. I have to charge it every 1-2 days. As well, it doesn't always charge when it's on the charger. For example, it didn't charge last night; it appeared that the charger wasn't working. It didn't start to charge until I powered it off. Lastly, it's not compatible with a lot of different sites like some other wearables. Overall: If you can deal with having to charge often and lack of compatibility outside of Samsung, this is a good product.

Terrible quality

RafaelRC9 12/25/2017

I bought this watch in 2015 and loved the features, I liked it so much that I bought another one for my wife. Fast forward to 2017 and the strap broke in BOTH watches the very same way!! My wife's lasted 15 months and mine 18. I didn't find original replacements nor I expected to have to pay for new straps shortly after one year of use. The fact that both broke the same part the same way shows that the quality of this product is terrible. I do not want to buy a new one every year and will look for another brand instead.

Floors Count Is A Disaster

Squiggy54 12/20/2017

I had a Gear Fit 2 that I lost while playing golf. I had lost it at the same course earlier, but was able to locate it. I liked it so well that I purchased a replacement. Unfortunately, in one particular area, the new device is a disaster - floors. It either registers no floors climbed unless I turn it off then on, or it has me climbing stairs like a wild man from the comfort of my office chair. 125 and 127 flights Sunday and Monday this week. I called support and was advised to uninstall the gear app from my phone and do a full reset of the unit. I did that 3 times, no success. The features that work are great, but until the two glaring faults are corrected, completely unreliable floors count and poor design of the strap retainer, I cannot recommend this device.

Good product with flaws

harrypotter1 12/19/2017

I bought the Gear Fit2 3 months ago and have been both pleased and disappointed in the watch as a whole. It is a great workout companion for beginners and has helped me in getting healthier. I appreciate the heart rate tracker and the ability to record water intake. The Gear Fit2 fits nicely and I've had no problems with it coming off unexpectedly. The weather app is also a nice touch. On the downside, it does not always track distance accurately. When I am running, it'll record almost a half a mile under what I had run- I tend only to use the timer now when running because of this. It also does a terrible job at tracking floors- that tracker is the least accurate on the watch. The numbers are completely outrageous and never correct. I have turned off the floor tracker and do not use it because of its inaccuracy. Additionally, I cannot find a pair of wireless headphones that connect to the Gear Fit2- all have been incompatible. One of the main reasons I bought the watch was to use wireless headphones with it and not have to take my phone on runs in order to listen to music. I am glad I invested in in the Gear Fit2, overall it is a good device. I am disappointed in not having the ability to connect it with wireless headphones though. Other than that, I would recommend buying. Perhaps the Gear Fit2 Pro would be worth looking into over this one.

Watch worked extremely well when I first purchased and now a year later after all the software updates it does not recognize my elliptical workout, heart rate monitor has gotten horrible ( middle of workout sweating profusely and heart rate is 59??) And have to click "measure" multiple times to get read out. I loved this watch at first but extremely disappointed now.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!

balord 11/30/2017

This is a bad product. The display stopped working and I sent it in to SAMSUNG for repair under warranty. I received a bill for the repair that cost more than the watch itself. They said it was damaged and that the damage cancelled the warranty. When I sent it off for repair there was no visible sign of damage. Poor quality, poor service, and poor support. As a matter of fact, I am no longer going to buy any more SAMSUNG products. Poor company.

BUYER BEWARE: This device is not water resistent!

CAUTION 11/30/2017

Manf. says not repairable due to water damage:-( I used this watch during my personal training sessions twice a week and I sweat. Other than that the watch shouldn't have any water damage except if I was moving in and out of the rain. The PROBLEM IS THEY SAY IT'S WATER RESISTANT, which clearly it's isn't. Samsung can't sell me another smartwatch of any kind. It's a risky purchase. Good luck!

Loving this Fit2

Fit2Run 11/21/2017

I bought the watch as a gift for my husband and overall, the watch screen and band are durable, which is very important since this will be an everyday accessory for my husband, and he is tough on everything! He really enjoyed how he was able to personalize the watch to his liking and the variety of apps that can be downloaded. It was easy for him to get the watch up and running and the was of navigating between the different apps makes it very user friendly. He was impressed at how quickly the watch charged, and even more impressed at how long it is able to hold the charge even with a lot of use! I have really enjoyed seeing him get such good use out of this watch and am thinking that I need to get one myself!

Excellent product; battery life is noticeably shorter than similar products and could be improved.

Made Poorly

AngryKellz 9/27/2017

The band on this device is made poorly. I had to send it back to be fixed and the band is broke again. Ironically, warranty department is claiming the can't fix it.

Nice tracker

Hot94Stang 9/25/2017

I'm using the Gear Fit2 with my Motorola Moto 4G Plus. A real pain to get everything working, but once I did, all the features worked great. There are lots of customization options, the notifications are great and so far it's comfortable to wear. I do wish the gestures were customizable. I don't like the screen turning on and off so much. I have no reason to believe the screen isn't tough, but I put a screen protector on the unit just in case. Also there are a number of aftermarkets device holders that provide a huge increase in the amount of protection. Overall, I recommend the device. I'd highly recommend it, once Samsung fixes the problems with the device pairing with non Samsung phones. BTW - If it doesn't impact battery life I love to see an auto brightness display.

Great watch ruined by bad band

Came0032 9/24/2017

I have no issues with the watch itself, but with the watch band, always coming undone, and falling off my wrist. Had the watch all of six months till it fell off my wrist and I didn't realize it till it was gone.

Auto

Oneoldguy 9/14/2017

Automatic dim or brightness controls not available. Many features are a bit more challenging to easily get used to, and do mot function as expected. Too many nonsensical display features. Get your glasses on.

Waste of money!!

Kruzki 9/11/2017

Very promising with all the features it has but it's broken after a year. Screen is dead after 1 year and strap broke 2 times in one year. What a complete waste of money.

Gear Fit2

revdebi 9/8/2017

In the beginning, I was thoroughly impressed with my Gear Fit2. Then, due to some situations I was unable to wear it for a few months. When I was able to start wearing it again, I charged it up...so I thought. Now, it will not charge or turn on. I don't understand why it worked fine when I put it in the drawer and then a couple of months later it will not charge or turn on! That's the reason for my 'average' review.

Stair count issue

infiniteLoop21 8/29/2017

It was fine until I swim with it for about 5 minutes. I forgot to take it off and swam for about 5 minutes. Now it won't count my stair correctly. I found that it is an known issue and it won't be fixed. How sad. Now I can't use it as it gives wrong calories burn for my daily activity.

GREAT FITNESS WATCH- CHARGING ISSUES

Socalokie 8/9/2017

The device itself is great from fitness tracking, basic text responses, notification management and customization options. THere are charging issues though. They didnt invest in the charger itself. A lot of time the device will not charge. I have bought 2 new aftermarket chargers and still have the same issues. It comes and goes. I have found that plugging the charger into a lower power usb outlet like on a laptop or pc seems to reset the charger and make it work again(not always though). Great device when you charge it consistently. Fix the charger on future models.

What point is a watch that won't stay on?!!!

WildWillie 7/25/2017

You can read other reviews to hear about all the great features. I'm simply going to highlight an unforgiveable flaw. The watch will not stay on your wrist if you are really active!!!! The design of the band is faulty if you do anything more than walk/run. My wife and I each had one of these watches. During the course of normal daily activity, if anything bumps the watch where the band connects, it will pop off. This resulted in the loss of my watch, and hers being broken by someone stepping on it. Consequently we are out two watches and have zero recourse. Thanks for nothing, Samsung!!!

Why are there so few exercise trackers?

DrData 7/16/2017

I cannot understand how in the Samsung Health app on the phone contains 100+ exercise trackers, but on the Gear Fit 2 or Gear 3 watch there are only 15! Now, let's think about this. Select jump rope for example, how could you jump rope holding the phone? But this option among many others are not included on the bands and watches. Nonsense! Samsung needs to allow the user select out of those 100s of exercises which one they want to be displayed on the band or watch.

Expectations crushed, this thing sucks

B2fun 7/15/2017

I had high hopes. Before I start - I didn't drop it, it's never been wet, and its 50%. Battery life is dismal, best is half a day. Floor count is wildly inaccurate. The gear app is very poor compared to leading competitor. Band not available in extra large, As a result it's always "almost" falling off. Lucky it was free with my flaming Note7. How do I turn of WiFi to save bat without putting the whole thing in low power mode? Not worth more time in review. Out of box experience should be close to marketing promises...... Selling on Craig's list. Back to leading competitor.

well designed Gear Fit 2, operation needs some improvement

HJan 7/12/2017

the GF2 is now appr. 10months in my posession. Before this I used a similar device from a Japanese competitor, I expected that the GF2 would have an improved performance. This partially correct, the heart beat measurement, GPS and BT connection with my S6E seem to work better. The software with the mobile phone however needs some improvement as far its the userfriendly-ness concerned. This was better to follow, operate and understand of the former device. With GPS in operation, the battery life is rather limited. Daily charging (at least) is needed than.

Easy to Loose

Brigidia 7/11/2017

The clasp is VERY poorly designed and after going onto the community board I discovered that I'm not the only one who has lost their GearFit2. It was a significant amount of money to spend on something I had for only 3 months. There is NO way to locate it either.
